TOPIK (Korean Proficiency Test)

The Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK) is the official Korean language proficiency examination administered by the National Institute for International Education (NIIED) under Korea's Ministry of Education. Established in 1997, TOPIK has become the global standard for evaluating Korean language abilities of non-native speakers, with over 400,000 test-takers annually across 90+ countries.

TOPIK is structured in two levels: TOPIK I for beginners (Levels 1-2) and TOPIK II for intermediate to advanced learners (Levels 3-6). This structure allows test-takers to choose the appropriate examination based on their proficiency level, with results determining the specific level achieved within each test category. The examination comprehensively assesses listening, reading, and writing skills, providing a holistic evaluation of Korean language competence.
