Specific Requirements

  • None for the TOGAF Enterprise Architecture Part 1 exam (OGEA-101) or for the combined OGEA-103 exam.
  • The Part 2 exam (OGEA-102) requires the TOGAF Enterprise Architecture Foundation certification, or a pass on the Part 1 exam on the same day at the same test center.
  • The OGEA-10B Bridge exam requires an existing TOGAF 9 Certified qualification.
  • The Open Group recommends but does not require an Accredited Training Course before any exam.
  • The Applied TOGAF Enterprise Architecture Practitioner badge additionally requires attending an accredited course and completing at least 10 Learning Studies exercises, with your candidate ID submitted by the training provider.
  • An account on The Open Group website is required, since it connects to Pearson for bookings, receipts, results, and rescheduling.
Exam Format

Number of Questions

Part 1: 40 questions. Part 2: 8 scenario questions. Combined: 48 questions.

Duration

Part 1 (OGEA-101): 60 minutes. Part 2 (OGEA-102): 90 minutes. Combined (OGEA-103): 150 minutes total, split 60 minutes for section 1 and 90 minutes for section 2 with no break between them. Pearson blocks about 15 extra minutes per appointment for check-in, tutorial, and survey.

Question Format

Simple multiple choice with one correct answer (Part 1), Scenario-based complex multiple choice with gradient scoring (Part 2)

Passing Requirement

60 percent on each part. Part 1 needs 24 or more correct out of 40. Part 2 needs 24 or more points out of a maximum 40, where the best answer scores 5, the second best 3, the third best 1, and the distracter 0. On the combined exam both sections must be passed independently.

How It Is Delivered

Supervised, at Authorized Examination Provider test centers or remotely through Pearson VUE OnVUE. Part 1 is closed book. Part 2 is open book with an electronic Body of Knowledge built into the exam and reached through the Reference button; no hardcopy books are allowed.
