Specific Requirements
- There is no certification prerequisite for EX200. Anyone can register and sit the exam.
- You must be eighteen years of age to be eligible to purchase and consume Red Hat training and exams. Red Hat states this in the Minors Policy section of the Red Hat Training Policies page, not in the Certification program guide.
- You must upload a valid government-issued photo ID before an individual exam, and can choose AI ID verification or manual verification.
- Red Hat recommends, but does not require, that you have taken Red Hat System Administration I (RH124) and II (RH134), or the RHCSA Rapid Track course (RH199), or that you have comparable work experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
- For a remote exam you must complete the mandatory compatibility test from the Red Hat LiveUSB environment before your exam date, and resolve any failures before you sit.
- Red Hat lists the minimum remote exam hardware as a stable high-speed internet connection, an available USB 3.0 port, an external webcam because built-in cameras might not be accepted, and a working microphone. Full specifications arrive in the booking confirmation email and are updated regularly.
Number of Questions
Red Hat does not publish an item count. EX200 is a set of real-world configuration tasks on live systems, not a question paper.
Duration
3 hours, delivered as a single section. Red Hat no longer prints a duration on the EX200 page and the Certification program guide points back to that page, so this figure comes from Red Hat exam datasheets reproduced by authorised training partners rather than from redhat.com directly.
Question Format
Live configuration tasks on running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 systems, Tasks described in terms of a required end state rather than a required command, No multiple-choice, drag-and-drop, or written items of any kind, Every task graded on the final state of the system after a reboot
Passing Requirement
Red Hat does not publish a passing score for EX200. The Certification program guide states that results include a pass or fail status and a score breakdown by objective area. The widely repeated 210 out of 300 figure appears nowhere in Red Hat documentation.
How It Is Delivered
Remote exam booted from the official Red Hat Remote Exam ISO on a LiveUSB drive and watched by a remote proctor over webcam and microphone; an individual testing station at a Red Hat or partner location; or a classroom session administered by a Red Hat Certified Examiner.
Languages Offered
Red Hat does not publish a language list on the EX200 exam page. The Certification program guide notes only that Red Hat credentials are recognised in more than 180 countries.
