Specific Requirements
- For Enforcement Officer/Accounts Officer: a Bachelor's degree in any subject from a recognised university or institute. No minimum percentage and no work experience is specified.
- For Assistant Provident Fund Commissioner: a degree of a recognised university or equivalent. A diploma in company law, labour laws or public administration is listed as desirable rather than essential.
- Age for Enforcement Officer/Accounts Officer: 30 years for unreserved and EWS candidates, 33 for OBC, 35 for SC and ST, and 40 for candidates with benchmark disabilities.
- Age for Assistant Provident Fund Commissioner: 35 years for unreserved, EWS and ST candidates, 38 for OBC, 40 for SC, and 45 for candidates with benchmark disabilities. The upper age limit is also relaxable by up to five years for employees of the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation.
- Universal Registration on upsconline.nic.in, which UPSC states is done only once in a lifetime and cannot be modified afterwards.
- The details of one photo ID card, which UPSC requires to be entered in the online application and carried to both the recruitment test and the personality test.
- UPSC states the prescribed essential qualifications are the minimum, and that mere possession of them does not entitle a candidate to be called for interview. The qualifications are relaxable at the Commission's discretion, for reasons recorded in writing, for candidates who are otherwise well qualified.
Number of Questions
UPSC does not publish the number of questions in Special Advertisement No. 52/2025. What it does state is that all questions carry equal marks and all questions are objective type with multiple choices of answer. Treat any specific question count seen elsewhere as unverified unless it appears in the advertisement for the cycle being attempted.

Two hours. UPSC states this directly in the scheme of the Combined Recruitment Test.
Question Format
Objective type questions with multiple choices of answer, which is the only question type UPSC specifies for the Combined Recruitment Test, Personality test, described by UPSC as the interview, carrying 100 marks
Passing Requirement
UPSC does not publish a fixed pass mark for the recruitment test. It states that the minimum level of suitability for the recruitment test is decided by the Commission on a case to case basis, and that a candidate must achieve the minimum level of suitability in their category at both the recruitment test stage and the interview stage. For the interview, out of total marks of 100, the minimum level of suitability is 50 marks for unreserved candidates, 45 marks for OBC candidates and 40 marks for SC, ST and PH candidates. Final merit uses a 75:25 weightage between the recruitment test and the interview.
How It Is Delivered
Pen and paper based test at one of 78 centres. UPSC issues an e-Admit Card three weeks before the test on upsconline.nic.in, and states that no admit card is sent by post. The centres and the date are liable to change, and admission to all stages is provisional pending verification of eligibility.
