Specific Requirements
- No formal prerequisite. Mirantis sets no degree, course or prior certification requirement, and anyone can buy an exam seat at store.mirantis.com.
- Mirantis writes the exam for candidates with at least six months to one year of Docker experience, including exposure to Docker Enterprise Edition.
- The study guide also lists container security, experience with at least one cloud provider, configuration management tooling, and Linux or Windows Server as expected background knowledge.
- A Docker ID, because certificate credentials are sent to the email address on that profile.
- A Windows 7 or later or macOS 10.8 or later computer with a webcam, Google Chrome and the Zoom desktop client. Linux is not supported.
- An internet connection of at least 2 Mbps upload and download.
- A valid government-issued photo ID bearing your signature, full legal name and photograph, with a second form of identification available if requested.
- USD 199 or EUR 200 per attempt, purchased online.

How It Is Calculated
The exam mixes 13 standard multiple choice items with 42 Discrete Option Multiple Choice items. Caveon, which patented DOMC, describes an item as ending once it has been answered correctly or incorrectly, so the number of options you actually see varies by candidate and by the random order they arrive in. Mirantis does not publish whether the six domains are compensatory, whether items carry equal weight, or whether a wrong response costs more than a zero.
When You Get Results
Immediately on the testing screen, with the option to request the score report by email to the address on your Docker ID. Certificate access arrives within 48 business hours to that same address.
