Rules specific to this exam
- 150 of the 170 questions are scored; the other 20 are unscored pretest items and candidates cannot identify them.
- Each section is timed separately: Reading 55 minutes, Mathematics 57 minutes, Science 60 minutes, English and Language Usage 37 minutes.
- You may move back and forth within an open section, but a closed section cannot be reopened.
- ATI provides a short 10-minute break between the Mathematics and Science sections that does not count against exam time.
- Personal calculators are prohibited. An on-screen calculator is provided for the Mathematics section.
- All personal items including bags, phones, notes, food, and drinks are prohibited in the testing room.

How It Is Calculated
Total and Content Area scores are equated: they are the percentage of items answered correctly, adjusted for differences in form difficulty so that results are comparable across exam versions. Because of that adjustment you cannot recalculate them from the rest of the score report. Sub-Content Area scores are plain percentages of items answered correctly with no equating applied.
When You Get Results
A preliminary score appears immediately on finishing. ATI's TEAS at ATI page states the finalised score is available within three business days excluding weekends and major holidays, while its exam registration page states four business days for remote TEAS at ATI exams; plan on four. A TEAS at PSI score usually posts to your ATI account within 48 to 72 hours.
In raw terms: 150 of the 170 questions are scored. The 20 unscored pretest items do not contribute to any reported score, and candidates cannot identify them.
- ATI warns that Sub-Content Area scores should not be compared across different exam forms because they are not equated.
- The score report is the Individual Performance Profile, which lists Total, Content Area, and Sub-Content Area results together.
- TEAS scores are usually valid for two years, but each school sets its own admissions criteria.
- There is no penalty for a wrong answer, so an unanswered question is strictly worse than a guess.
