Pick the exam and read its real blueprint
Week 1

3-5 hours this week

  • Choose one exam, not a suite. Word Associate MO-110, Excel Associate MO-210 and PowerPoint Associate MO-310 are the three Microsoft 365 Apps Associate options.
  • Download the exam's skills outline from its Microsoft Learn page and copy every objective into a checklist with a confidence column.
  • Check the language list on that same page before you book: MO-210 runs in 15 languages, MO-110 only in English and Japanese.
  • Confirm which product version your practice machine runs, because Microsoft 365 Apps and Office 2019 are separate exam tracks with separate exam codes.
  • Locate a Certiport Authorized Testing Center and check its scheduling lead time.
The heaviest objective domain first
Week 2

6-8 hours this week

  • Work only the largest published group for your exam. On Word Associate that is Manage documents or Insert and format text, paragraphs and sections at 20 to 25 percent each; on Excel Expert it is Create advanced formulas and macros at 30 to 35 percent. PowerPoint has no published percentages, so weight it by the number of objectives in each group instead.
  • For each objective, build a file from scratch rather than reading about the feature. The exam grades document state, so the muscle memory is the study.
  • Log every task you had to search a menu for. Those are the ones that cost minutes on a 50-minute clock.
  • Use the free Microsoft 365 Apps certification preparation materials in Microsoft Learn's educator centre, which include practice projects for MO-210.
  • Do not touch a practice exam yet.
Second and third objective domains
Week 3

6-8 hours this week

  • Cover the next two groups by published weight and repeat the build-from-scratch drill.
  • For Excel, force yourself through absolute and relative references, the COUNT family and IF variants without autocomplete hints.
  • For Word, cover styles, section breaks and multilevel lists, which sit inside the two 20 to 25 percent groups on MO-100.
  • For PowerPoint, cover slide masters and layouts, which sit in Manage presentations, the group with the most listed objectives on an exam Microsoft weights no further.
  • Start timing individual tasks with a stopwatch and record which ones run over 90 seconds.
The small groups everybody skips
Week 4

6-8 hours this week

  • Cover the 5 to 15 percent groups. On Word these are Create and manage references and Manage document collaboration, at 5 to 10 percent each; together they can be 20 percent of the exam.
  • Learn accessibility tasks explicitly: alt text on images, charts and SmartArt appears across Word, Excel and PowerPoint objectives.
  • Learn the inspect-for-issues workflow, which appears in Manage documents on Word and Manage worksheets and workbooks on Excel.
  • Practise import and export tasks, which are easy to get almost right and score zero.
  • Re-drill anything from week 2 that you have not touched since.
First timed practice exam
Week 5

6-8 hours this week

  • Take a CertPREP practice test, which Certiport supplies and GMetrix powers, in testing mode with the 50-minute clock running.
  • Score it against 700 on the 1 to 1000 scale, then map every miss to an objective on your checklist.
  • Rebuild every failed task from a blank file, twice.
  • Record your total elapsed time. Finishing at 50 minutes with correct work is a fail risk; the target is finishing with time to re-open files.
  • If you bought the $156 voucher-with-retake-and-CertPREP bundle, remember the practice licence has a limited number of attempts.
Speed, not knowledge
Week 6

6-8 hours this week

  • Redo the same practice set aiming to cut 30 percent off your time without losing accuracy.
  • Build a personal shortcut list for the ten tasks that cost you the most seconds and drill them alone.
  • Practise reading a task statement and identifying the exact required end state before touching the mouse. Partial completion earns nothing on that task.
  • Practise the project-switching rhythm: finish a file's tasks, re-scan them, then move on, because returning later costs reload time.
  • Take a second practice exam under strict conditions.
Book, verify, and drill the weak tail
Week 7

5-7 hours this week

  • Book the exam at your Certiport Authorized Testing Center and confirm the exam code you booked matches the version you practised.
  • Confirm the centre's ID requirements and arrival time when you book, since these are set by the test centre rather than published centrally.
  • If you need accommodations, request them now: Certiport requires advance notification and time to review, and offers extended time, a separate room, and a reader or recorder.
  • Drill the five objectives with the lowest confidence score on your checklist.
  • Take a final practice exam no later than three days before the real one.
Sit the exam and stack the next one
Week 8

3-5 hours this week

  • Sit the exam. Your score report appears when you finish and is stored in your Certiport profile.
  • If you fail, you may retake after 24 hours; if you bought the $120 voucher-with-retake, use the retake voucher within its 30-day window.
  • If you pass, claim the digital certificate and the Credly badge from your Certiport profile.
  • Plan the next two exams in different programs, since three passes in three different programs with at least one on the Microsoft 365 Apps track earn the Associate credential.
  • Diarise the five-year expiration if your certification was earned on or after September 23, 2025.
